why 1 by x+2 is not a polynomial.Give the reason.

1/x+2 can be written as (x+2)^-1 but the power can never be negative in a polynomial so it's not a polynomial.

The general definition of polynomial says that the power of the variable should be non -ve integers.
In this case , the power of x is -ve. So , it's not a polynomial!
