Why an exploding sound heard when sodium or potassium reacts with water brainly?

The potassium will violently react with the water and will generally explode. This reaction is more violent than that of sodium and water. All of the elements in the alkali metal group (Group 1) will react with water with increasing violence as you work your way down the group.
