Hey Friend!
Animals in the deserts have thick and heavy skin due to the following reasons-
1. As the fur of the desert animals covers the animal as a protective layer thus it protects them from both hot days and colder nights.
2. At days the animal doesn't allow the heat rays of the sun inside as its coat reflects the sunlight back and also helps the animal i.e, camel to sweat and thus cools the body of the animal.
3. And at night it doesn't allow the cold winds to enter the body of the animal thus keeping it warm and safe at the night time.
4. It also eliminates the loss of the water from the body of the animal.
Hope it helps!!
