because of bond pair bond pair replulsion

ethers have more bond angle due to bond pair- bond pair repulsion which is there due to presence of carbon molecules on both the sides...
hope this will help u.....

Arvis: but it has 2 lp so its angle shud b smallr than 109.28
Urvi29: see what happens actually is ... that lp lp repulsion is there but due to bp bp repulsion increases thebond angle increases. see the bp r formed with carbon molecules not hydrogen so it will have more polarity and so more angle........
legend4: In case of ethers there are 4 electron pairs out of which 2 are lp and 2 BP. ....so it is arranged in tetrahedral arrangement and bcz of repulsive interaction between 2 bulky group the bond angle is large
Arvis: thnk u
legend4: your welcome
Urvi29: ur welcome
