We can measure all the lengths. in just one standard unit of length when the numericals or questions have distance in kilometres it becomes very difficult to calculate and solve it..

also if it is given in millimeters or centimetres too it is very inconvenient as it can be in decimals...

*** so to make the calculations easier , save the time and to solve it with accuracy we don't use only one standards..

hope helped..

➡When we have 10 millimeters, it can be called a centimeter. We can use millimeters or centimeters to measure how tall we are, or how wide a table is, but to measure the length of a football field it is better to use meters. ... When we need to get from one place to another, we measure the distance using kilometers.
