Why frequency remains constant during refraction?

The frequency depends only on the source of light (i.e. from where the light is generated for example torch, laser, etc). While refraction the source of light remains the same therefore the frequency does not change.

Frequency depends on the source of the wave(or light). Refraction happens at the intersection of two mediums which doesn't affect the source. Hence frequency remains same.
