why is a piece of iron heated till it becomes red hot

Answer: A blacksmith first heats apiece of iron till it becomes red hot. It then becomes soft and can be beaten into desired shape. Iron when heatedand beaten it forms some shape and again heated it regain initial iron.

Metals like iron have to be heated to a really high temperature to be able to forge/shape it into various shapes or structures. The temperature thus achieved should be more than a 1000°.
