It is stated as universal law of gravitational because this law works in the whole universe.

every object in the universe has a gravitational pull with efficient other object in the universe with a magnitude directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of distance between them.

Gurbrahm: Ok...i found thks on Google. Newton did not "figure out" his universal law of gravitation completely on his own. He instead expanded upon the works of Galileo, Kepler, Halley, Huygens, Hooke, and others. ... Apparently Newton and Hooke independently discovered the inverse square relationship.
juchiii: firstly, sorry for the line of thank you s. Yeah its the work of everyone there but still, my question be's a question again
Gurbrahm: yaa.....btw
Gurbrahm: we should be curious like you...
Gurbrahm: i liked your curiosity
Gurbrahm: ok bye...i will try to research on it..

Heya!!

Thanks for asking the question!

Here is your answer : -

What does direct proportion means?
- It means of we increase the value of one quantity then the value of the other quantity will also increase.

What does inversely proportional means?
- It means when we increase the value of one quantity then the value of the other quantity decreases.

The universal law of gravitation states that every body in the universe attracts other body as a result of it's mass and this force is directly proportional to the product of the masses of the two bodies and it is inversely proportional to the square of distance between them.

Hope it helps you : )

juchiii: Whatever you've written is completely right but its not complementary to my question.
Prakhar2908: Ok.
Prakhar2908: You asked for what does universal law of gravitation states ? and I have answered thay only.
juchiii: Actually you read it wrong
Gurbrahm: hey bro...just have a look on our conversation....
juchiii: Its why is it stated the universal law. Anyway, thanks.
Gurbrahm: yuppp....maybe
