Why is the frogs joy both sweet and bitter?

the frog was clever and cunning. he boasted that he was a great music critic. the credulous nightingle followed his instructions and sang for long hours. her voice attracted the elite gathering which praised the sweet songs of the nightingale . the crowd provided a lot of joy to the frog. but he was jealous of the charming voice of the nightingale. therefore his joy was a mixture of sweetness and bitterness.
