Explanation:
It is because of the topography of India. The Western Ghats present in the Western side of India don't allow the rainclouds to pass through the Deccan plateau and hence creating a Tropical Monsoon climate alongside Western India.
While the Eastern Ghats being a non - continous range and shorter than the Western Ghats allow the Rain bearing winds to pass through them and henceforth creating a Temperate Monsoon Climate alongside Eastern India
