because of the reactivity most of the metals are highly reactive at react with the other elements present but there are also some more reactive metals like gold If You Don't React that's why all most of the battles occur in nature in combined state

Metals like Sodium Potassium etc are very reactive. They can react with various elements and compounds in the air, water or in the soil very easily.
The reason for their reactivity is the single or two electrons present in their outermost orbits or shells. They lose electrons very easily to electro negative radicals. So they are as Sulphates Phosphates Carbonates Oxides etc.
Some metals like Gold and Platinum are very less reactive. The reason is their electronic structure. So they are found in their natural free states.
