Why should one learn english?

English also known as " lingua Franca " is considered to be one of the universal languages. In fact, it is the second most popular language next to mandarin. It is the medium of instruction in most of the top ranked international universities and schools. It is also the national language or the most spoken language in powerful nations like the United Kingdom, the United States too. A language is meant to convey our feelings to the other person in a systematic way. This is possible only when both the people involved in the conversation speak in the same language. Since English is extremely popular and has the above mentioned advantages, I guess it is necessary to learn English. Today's fast paced competitive world demands a person to know more than one language to survive quite successfully and it is needless to say that English is more than inevitable in that list :) !
