◆ Greenhouse effect -

  • Greenhouse gases are water vapour, carbon dioxide, methane, ozone and nitrous oxide.
  • These gases prevents the radiations from the earths atmosphere to escape.
  • Therefore, heat gets trapped in the earths atmosphere and temprature near the surface of earth is increased.
  • As this same phenomenon occurs in greenhouses, this is called greenhouse effect.
  • Greenhouse effect is the prime cause for global warming.
  • It is increasing day-by-day due to rise in automobiles, air pollution, etc.
