Yes, Ranga's home coming was a great event because at that time only few people go out of their native villages in city to study and people think that after  going in urban areas people change. Thus everyone was eager to see the changes in Ranga's personality .

Ranga's homecoming was a great event as his father had enough courage to send him to Bangalore and he was the first person from his village to go to Bangalore for study. Whem he came back to village after six months , every villager rushed to his house to have a look at him . They wanted to confirm that whether ranga still know about his religion and beliefs as they expected that his studies in Bangalore might have changed him a bit .
