Why would an aircraft be unable to fly on the moon?

because no air is present on the moon and the aircraft engine uses the principle of conservation of momentum in which normal atmospheric air is converted into hot air is emitted out from the engine and aircraft moves forward so as there is no Air on the moon aircraft can't fly
