Wild life conservation is a collective terms, including the conservation of un domesticated animal species , bird species, aquatic animals, butterflies, land vegetation and their habitat.
It is important to conserve for achieving:
Ecological balance
Preserving economically important plants
Conserving endangered species
Preservation of wild life which contributes to the maintenance of material cycles such as carbon and nitrogen cycles.
And lastly for maintaining a clean environment.
***Conservation Methods taken by Government
---By delimiting the natural habitats
---Imposing complete restriction on hunting and poaching
--- By developing wild life sanctuaries
--- By spreading awareness through various means
--- By setting up different projects like : 1) Project Elephant initiated in India in 1992 to provide financial and technical support to major elephant bearing states and protecting their habitat by securing their corridors.
2) Project Tiger initiated in April 1973 for saving and increasing no of Tigers in states.
And finally by setting up different Wild Life Sanctuaries:
a) Corbett national Park, Uttarakhand
b) Kaziranga Nationl Park, Assam
c) Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh
d) Sunderban National Park, West Bengal etc.
