When Nelson Mandela’s illusion about his freedom was dispelled, his hunger for his own freedom as well as for the black people increased.  

In order to fight for this freedom he joined the African National Congress. He gave up his normal life and began taking active part in movements against South Africa’s discriminatory regime. He was forced to live away from his family, like a monk.
