To understand the development of a male child, it is important to have the knowledge about the sex chromosome of both male and female.

Male has two sex chromosomes - X and Y. And female has same 2 sex chromosome - X and X.

When X chromosome of male gets fused with X chromosome of female, the zygote will have XX chromosome hence a female baby will develop.

So, when the Y chromosome of male gets fused with X chromosome of female, a XY chromosomal zygote is formed which then results in the development of a male child.
