Explanation:

Are you a student? Teacher? Parent?

And what is “poor” about the school? Its academic record? Its buildings? Its teaching? And do you have evidence of this that points to there being a serious problem, outside your personal perception? Have you/other people, tried to rectify what is ‘wrong’ in some way and been ignored?

Writing a letter of this kind should not be undertaken without a great deal of judicious thought, and much evidence that you are making a serious point, that has been ignored so far.

I would alert the school authorities that you are intending to send such a letter - in the spirit of giving them a final (or first?) chance to put things right. After all, the ultimate intention must be to galvanise improvement - right?

Depending on your relationship with the school and its management/Board, I would seek professional advice before writing your letter. If there is a serious issue to contend with, that might well, once exposed, impact staff and students. then perhaps someone official or even legal should write this letter?

Have you written to the Head teacher? That’s a first step. Have you written to the Board of Governors, in the event your letter to the Head was ignored or his/her response was unsatisfactory?

If so, then copies of those letters - and any responses - need to accompany any further official correspondence you enter into with an Education official.
