Subject: Junk Food at the School Canteen

Dear Madam:

I write to you to bring your kind attention towards the fact that most of the food items that are being sold at the school canteen are either canned, packed, processed items or fast food. This is seriously affecting the health of the children, especially very young children. Besides, the quality of the food items at times is ignored. The students are the losers. Not only their money is wasted but their health is also affected.

The school canteen must sell nutritious and healthy food such as, fresh fruit salad, fruit yogurt, fruit, fresh fruit juices (not only the artificial packed juices), popcorn, muffins, plain milk, vegetable wraps, etc. I am hopeful your good self will definitely look into the problem and instruct the canteen in charge to include healthy, nutritious items in the canteen menu. Thanking you.

Yours faithfully,

Neeraj

Dear Sir,
                                     Food in the School Canteen

I wish to bring to your kind notice an important matter relating to the food being served in our canteen and the way to improving the same so that better care is taken in replacing some items with healthy and nutritious food.

While it is nice to serve chapatis with vegetables and pickle, rolls must be done away with immediately as fried items are not good. Similarly, burgers and hotdogs should be replaced with light sandwiches. More of fruits and vegetables should be served in replacement for fast or junk food as the latter are not good for the human body.

I shall be very pleased if you will kindly review the matter and issue suitable instructions to the canteen in-charge with a view to improving the food served in the canteen.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully
