Footwear and Products Industry holds a prominent place in Indian economy in terms of employment generation and exports earnings. Government of India has also recognized this as the Priority sector under Make in India initiative. India is today the most favorable sourcing and manufacturing base destination for the leading countries like Italy, Germany, UK, USA, Hong Kong, France, Spain, Netherlands and Belgium.
The School of Footwear Design and Production, in existence from its inception ( i.e. 1986), is dedicated for development and growth of the sector and is having global recognition for nurturing high end professionals and extending international level for consultancy support to the sector, in the niche area of Footwear Design, Production and Management.
FDDI being an “Institution of National Importance” is amongst the four Institutes in the world offering higher education in Footwear and Product Design, Manufacturing and Management.
