Explanation:
Say it's recess and you're playing with friends. You notice the new kid in school trip and fall, so you stop to help him. You find out that you both love pizza, have a lot in common, and, before you know it, you've made a new friend! For the next week, you sit with him at recess until his ankle is better and he can run around with you and your friends.
Like this scenario, ''Androcles and the Lion'' is an ancient story about a man who helps a lion who is hurt. Myths are fictional stories that explain things like how people act, just like this one that shows that acting with kindness and gratefulness was important in ancient culture. And just like you helped the new kid in your class and made a new friend, Androcles helped someone, too - but it was a lion!
