In 1857 solders working under british government had done a revolution against the government. Because they are giving less wages and also filling the cartridges with fat of pig and cow hence 1857 revolt occured

the idea of an uprising had been brewing among the people but, when it finally happened,it was not planed . it broke out all of a sudden , and it shook the British.
