Guru Arjan Singh founded the Baoli Sahib of Lahore in the year 1599. The place belonged to a woman who bought it from a Sikh.

As she was digging the place, she found some high-value items and handed over the items to the ruler who in turn gave it to Guru Arjan Singh to utilize it for the good of the people and the Baoli was dug in Lahore.
