Answer:

Aim: Separating the components of ink using paper

chromatography.

Material required: Beaker, rectangular shaped filter

paper, black marker (non permanent),water, pencil and

cello tape.

Procedure:

1. Draw a thick line just above the bottom of the filter paper

with marker.

2. Pour some water in the beaker.

3. Attach the filter paper to the pencil with help of cello tape.

4. Hang the filter paper in beaker with the help of

pencil in such a way that it should just touch the

surface of the water.

5. Allow the water to move up the paper for 5minute.

6. Remove the filter paper from water.

Observation: We observe colors on filter paper.

Conclusion: We know that ink is a mixture of colors.

We can separate the color components of ink by using paper chromatography.
