I believe that nature is here for us to enjoy, and I try to use it to its fullest extent.

Last summer, when I vacationed in Canada I paddled across one of the many lakes we canoed on and, my brother, dad, and I saw over 20 bald eagles in the vicinity of fifty yards. From across the lake I saw at least eight or nine nests in the towering treetops. Above all the nests and trees there were about ten just soaring around as if they owned the sky.

When I looked at the eagles, I was in awe of just how amazing these creatures are, but people still take away from their habitats. When I see cleared land, I think about how much it impacts the animals that lived in there, not only the birds of prey, or the deer, but all of the little things that are the tender for the fire of the food chain. I wonder if there were any bird’s nests high above in the trees that tumbled down as the tree crashed to the forest floor, but then I am drawn back to the eagles living safely in peace and harmony in the wilderness of Canada.

Nature is here for me to enjoy, to take in all of its beauty and preciousness. The towering trees, and the peaceful lakes are home to so many creatures that can entertain me in so many different ways then any type of technology. Sure, there are shows such as Planet Earth and Mutual of Omaha’s: Wild Kingdom, but it doesn’t even compare to seeing it in real life.

Later into my vacation in Canada, we caught Walleye and had a fish fry. After I cleaned the fish, I canoed out to a little island about two hundred yards away from were I stayed that night. About five minutes later, an osprey, and three bald eagles took turns swooping in and taking some fish. You might say, well you shouldn’t kill the fish; you should let them live their life without human interaction. I believe that even though it is not natural to kill the fish, I may enjoy the nature to a reasonable extent.

Nature is all around me, and I believe that it should never be taken for granted. We all have the opportunity, but it is whether or not we choose to take advantage of what we have. We all see nature everyday, it is just how we look at it that makes the difference. I believe that nature is god’s gift to the world, use it.
