Explanation:

1) When acid reacts with alkali metal then metal salt and hydrogen gas is produced .

For Example -

2Na + 2HCl -> 2NaCl + H2

here,

HCl is hydrochloric acid

Na is alkali metal

NaCl is metal salt

H2 is hydrogen gas

2) When acid reacts with bicarbonate then metal salt, Carbon dioxide and water is produced.

For Example -

HCl + NaHCO3 -> NaCl + H2O + CO2

here,

NaHCO3 is bicarbonate

HCl is hydrochloric acid

NaCl is metal salt

H2O is water

CO2 is carbon dioxide

3) When acid reacts with carbonate then metal salt , Carbon dioxide and water is produced.

For example -

CaCO3 + 2HCl -> CaCl2 + H2O + CO2

here,

CaCO3 is carbonate

HCl is hydrochloric acid

CaCl2 is metal salt

H2O is water

CO2 is carbon dioxide
