various applications of ultrasound are:

1) it is used to get image of heart. it is called Echocardiography.

2) it is used to clean hard to reach parts of different machine parts.

3) it is used to detect flaws in any metal objects.

4) it is used to break stoned in gall bladder.

5) it is used for ultrasonography process.

6) it is used to measure the distance of seabed from surface by SONAR. the process is called echo ranging.

hope these helped ☺

• Ultrasound is used to scan parts located in hard-to-reach places, spiral tube, odd shaped parts, electronic components, etc. objects to be cleaned r placed in a cleaning solution and ultrasonic waves r sent into the solution. Due to the high frequency, the particles of dust, grease and dirt get detached and drop out. The objects thus get thoroughly cleaned.

• Ultrasounds can be used to detect cracks and flaws in metal blocks. Ultrasound waves r passed through metal blocks and detectors r used to detect the transmitted waves. If there is any defect, the sound gets reflected back.

• These waves r made to reflect from various parts of the heart to form the image. This technique is called Echo cardiography ( ECG ).

• Ultrasound scanner is an instrument which uses ultrasonic waves for getting images of internal organs of the body. A doctor may image the patient's organs such as liver, gall bladder, uterus, kidney, etc. This technique is known as ultrasonography where the waves r passed through the tissues and get reflected from the region where there is change in density. These waves r then converted into electrical signals and r used to generate images. They r also used in pregnancy where its used to check the growth of the child.

• Ultrasound waves r used to break small stones formed in kidney into fine grains. These grains later get flushed with urine.
