Write a report on blood donation camp
The blood donation camp was organized on Saturday, 16th March, at BC Roy Technology Hospital, with the help of Sub Division Hospital, Kharagpur. It began at around 10 am and continued up to 1 pm, with a steady stream of donors throughout. The corridor of the first floor of the hospital was abuzz with young KGPians chatting with each other, happy to be able to play their part in lending a helping hand to people in the region.
One of the rooms was utilized for a thorough medical check-up of potential donors, as well as the donation itself, while another there was another hall was where donors could lie down and recuperate for a while before they leave venue. They were provided with glucose water and food including biscuits, a banana and a cake. It was great to see more people than pre-registration numbers turning up in the venue. This stretched the capacity of the blood bank, as a result of which the contact details of the donors were taken so as to allow them to donate at the earliest to the blood bank. The blood bank asked for 60 units with higher number of A+ blood groups. Seeing the enthusiasm, they collected ten percent more, that is 66 units.
The samples were carefully sealed and transported away, while the volunteers and hospital staff helped in the clean-up of the area. Throughout the morning, there were smiles and laughter all around - a true embodiment of what we believe in - selfless service with a smile. The donors received certificate of recognition. They also get a credit card where one unit of blood is available free from Govt. Blood Bank in next one year. And, NSS, IIT Kharagpur unit received a certificate of appreciation from State Blood Transfusion Council, West Bengal.

Hi....
Ablood donation camp was organized in our school last Sunday. It was held in the school hall. All the preparations such as arrangement of beds, sanitation etc were made. A team of doctors and nurses from the local Govt hospital had reached in time. The Chief Guest of the Camp was the SDO of the city. He inaugurated the Camp by cutting the ribbon. The students of our schools and the other schools besides the people of the city were participating in the camp. I was also enthusiastic for donating my blood. I was laid to bed with a soft ball in my hand. Then the process of extracting the blood off my body started. The process took more than half an hour. After it, along with the another donators, I was given fruits and milk. There were also very prominent people of the city who were there to donate blood. The Blood Donation Camp continued till 3:0 pm. After that, the Chief Guest delivered the speech extolling those who had donated their blood. He told the audience that the donated blood would be used for saving the lives of the injured and the sick. One of the doctors also addressed the audience saying that the blood donation does not weaken the the donators. The recovery takes place very soon. He talked about facts/ myths/ Blood Groups related information. The SDM also handed over the Certificates to the blood donators. It was followed by a Cultural Programme. The students of our school presented the cultural items. Everybody enjoyed that. The Blood Donation Camp was ended with National Anthem. It was certainly a memorable day for me. I along with other people decided to donate blood in future also.
