x is daughter in law of P

ankurprakash47: sasur
ankurprakash47: daughter in law
subeeryashriya04: If we draw a family tree of this situation, we can conclude that X is the daughter in law of P, but, we cannot say whether P is the father in law or mother in law of X because the gender of P is not defined

p is the father/mother-in-law of x.

Given:

x is the wife of y and y is the brother of z. z is the son of p.

To Find:

The relationship between p and x.

Solution:

We have been given that:

1) x is the wife of y.

⇒ y is the husband of x or x and y are a couple.

2) y is the brother of z.

⇒ y and z will have the same parents.

3) z is the son of p.

⇒ p is a parent of z.

⇒ p is a parent of y as well since z and y are brothers.

Now since p is a parent of y and y is the husband of x, p will be the mother/father-in-law to z.

∴ p is the father/mother-in-law of x.
