(x-y)2 = X2+ Y2- 2XY
(x-y)2 = 29-2×2
(x-y)2= 25
(x-y) = √25
(x-y) = 5

Formula to be used

 =  >  \bf \:  {(x - y)}^{2}  =  {x}^{2}  +  {y}^{2}  - 2xy \\  \\ or. \: (x - y) =  \sqrt{ {x}^{2} +  {y}^{2} - 2xy  }

Given :-

=> x² + y² = 29

=> xy = 2
_______________
So,

  =  >  \bf \: (x - y) =  \sqrt{ {x}^{2} +  {y}^{2} - 2xy  }  \\  \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  =  \sqrt{29 - 2(2)}  =  \sqrt{29 - 4}  \\  \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  =  \bf \:  \sqrt{25}  = 5
