let x,x+1 be the consecutive numbers

now ,x(x+1)=20

→x²+x=20

→x²+x-20=0

→x²+5x-4x-20=0

→x(x+5)-4(x+5)=0

→(x-4)(x+5)=0

so x= 4,-5

so required numbers are 4,5 and -5,-4

Here x*y =20

let x be n
then y will be( n+1)

n(n+1)=20

n²+n-20=0

n²+5n-4n-20=0

n(n+5)-4(n+5)=0

(n-4)(n+5)=0

n=4 or -5

x=n=4,-5
y =n+1 =5,-4

So (x,y) = (4,5), (-5,-4)
