Gandhinagar:

Cruelty towards animals is cruelty towards any human being. Earth is as much a home to birds and animals as human beings. If we don't realise this, there will be a day when human being will be wiped off the earth.

Considering the value of animals in our lives, Rotary Club of Gandhinagar conducted a seminar on the topic 'Stop Cruelty Against Animals' on the 5th January 2019 in the club auditorium. The resource person for the same was Mr. Abhilash Kulkarni, Director of State Veterinary Services, Gandhinagar. In the day long seminar, Mr. Kulkarni said that throughout the world there is an uprise against cruelty towards animals. Poaching and hunting, though they are banned, are still rampant. His presentation highlighted the treatment of the breeders towards pups which they mass-breed and sell in various cities across India. It is a huge illegal market where the pets are not fed properly and they are transported to various cities in large containers where the aminals are cramped up. In some cases  some of the animals even lose their lives.

The seminar is an endeavor to sensitise the public towards animals treatment lodged towards them.
