Leukemia Inhibitory Factor.

Leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) is produced by bone cells in response to a number of resorption stimuli. The effects of LIF on bone resorption are variable. In a number of in vitro model systems, LIF stimulated resorption by a prostaglandin-dependent mechanism.
