cube is a three dimensional body. A cube has:

6 Square Faces: congruent

12 Edges: congruent

8 Vertices (cornors): congruent

6a² = 600 cm² ……… TSA (Totals Surface Area) of the cube; by data

a²= 100 cm² ………… Surface Area (SA) of a face

a = 10 cm ………… Length of an edge (side)

AnSwer -:

The length of side of a cube-: 10 cm

______________________________

Explanation -:

Surface area of cube -:

“SA = 6 x a^2”

SA = Surface Area

A = length of side of a cube

_______________________________

Given ,

Surface area of cube = 600 cm^2

To find,

Length of side of a cube

_______________________________

Now ,

Surface area of cube -:

“SA = 6 x a^2”

SA = Surface Area = 600 cm^2

A = length of side of a cube = ??

Now ,

600 cm^2 = 6 x a^2

600 = 6 x a^2

A^2 = 600/6

A^2 = 100

A = √100

A = 10

Hence ,

The length of side of a cube-: 10 cm

____________________________

Verification-:

Surface area of cube -:

“SA = 6 x a^2”

SA = Surface Area = 600 cm^2

A = length of side of a cube = 10 cm

Now ,

600 cm^2 = 6 x 10^2

600 = 6 x 10^2

600 = 6 x 100

600 = 600

Now ,

LHS = RHS

Hence verified
