A certain number is divided into two parts such that 5 times the first part added to 11 times, the second part makes 7 times the whole the ratio of the first part to th second part is?

Answer:

let 1st part of the number be x....and y part number be y.....

5x+11y=7×(x+y)

5x+11y=7x+7y

2x=4y

x/y=2/1

x:y=2:1..........
