Though rest and motion are two totally opposite terms, still there is a close relationship between them. This can be proved with the help of the example of a person sitting in a moving bus. This person is at rest with respect to other people sitting in that bus. On the other hand, he can be said to be in motion, if his position is compared with the surroundings outside the bus.
