• Radiation is the type of energy transfer in which the energy is transferred by the means of electromagnetic waves.

• Heat transfer by radiation do not need a medium for propagation.

• The other two method of heat transfer that is conduction and convection, needs a medium for the transfer of the energy.

• Radiation can transfer energy through vacuum because electromagnetic  can have different wavelength and can travel at great speed even through vacuum.

Some Application of Radiation are :-

• We receive heat from sun because of radiation.

• X-rays that is used in diagnosis uses radiation to get an internal view of our body.

• Emission of radio waves that is used in communication uses radiation.

• In modern medical field it is even used in treating cancers.
