corrosion is a natural process, which converts refined metal to a chemically stable form,such as its oxide,hydroxide or sulfide..

Corrosion: it is the process involving the conversion of a metal into an undesirable compound on exposure to atmospheric conditions, i.e. moisture and oxygen. In case of iron , corrosion is known as rusting.
