Give an experiment to show that rate of diffusion of solid increases with increase in temperature?
Answers
Answer: Take two beakers fill one beaker with hot water and the other beaker with cold water. Now add one crystal of potassium permanganate to each beaker. Now after a while take a look at the beakers you will notice that the beaker with hot water has almost completely dissolved the crystal and has turned to purple colour completely with out stiring it but in the beaker with cold water there only a few streaks of purple and you can see the crystal lying on the bottom of the beaker.
Explanation: This happens because, particles of matter are continuously moving, that is, they possess what we call the kinetic energy. As the temperature rises, particles move faster. So, we can say that with increase in temperature the kinetic energy of the particles also increases.
