It is true that the Earth is protected by the magnetosphere. Earth is always under attack of highly charged particles, specially emmited by the sun.

If there was no magnetic field, then Earth would be subjected to high and unhealthy radiations. This would erode the atmosphere in the long run as well.

Most importantly, it deflects the solar winds which would have otherwise stripped of the ozone layer and make us vulnerable to harmful ultraviolet rays.

It is beacause of this magnetic field which has helped humans in navagation for centuries too.

the difference between the temperature of the outer Core and inner core give rise to vertical currents
2. the Earth rotation gives them eddy circular
motion
3. electric currents developed in the spiral eddies of liquid or iron and thus the magnetic field is generated
4. it is sometimes called geodynamo too
5. this magnetic field of the earth is magnetic and functional even outside the Earth surface for a quiet distance
6. as a result power developed around the earth because of the magnetic field
7. the earth atmosphere is protected from solar winds coming from the sun
8. the magnetic field this developed around the earth is called Magnetosphere
