Let n be the group of students.

Given group of students pay Rs 10  = group of students * 10                                                                                                            = 10n                        ---------------- (i)

if there had been 3 more students = n + 3                        ---------------- (ii)

Each would have paid rs.2 less = total rupees - 2
                                                     = 10 - 2
                                                     = 8                                   ------------------ (iii)

on solving equations (i),(ii),(iii)
10n = (n+3)(8)

10n = 8n + 24

10n-8n = 24

2n=12

n=12.

The number of students in the group = 12.

Hope this helps!
