There are 4 men and 6 women on the city council .
∴ total number of possible outcomes = 4 men + 6 women = 10 women
Let E be the event that woman is selected .
∴ number of favourable outcomes n(E) = 6
now, ∵ P(E) = n(E)/n(S)
∴ P(E) = 6/10 = 3/5
∴ total number of possible outcomes = 4 men + 6 women = 10 women
Let E be the event that woman is selected .
∴ number of favourable outcomes n(E) = 6
now, ∵ P(E) = n(E)/n(S)
∴ P(E) = 6/10 = 3/5
