Slaked lime is used for white washing. After two or three days of white washing it gives shiny �inish to

walls due to the formation of the compound:

Calcium hydroxide reacts slowly with the carbon dioxide present in the air to form a layer calcium carbonate and water. This layer is formed 2-3 AGS after whitewashing and gives a shiny finish.
