The density of oxygen is 1.43g l at stp . Determine the density of oxygen of oxygen at 17 c and 800 torr?

In a topic called 'gaseous state' , you can get a deeper understanding of this question . the relation between pressure,volume,no. of moles and temperature is:

      PV =nTR ( R  is gaseous constant)

This can  be simplified further as:

P( m/d)=nTR

Now, since it is at stp, P1= 76 cm Hg; T= 0 C =273 k

        given, d=1.43

P1(m/d1) =nT1R  ---- (1)

And, P2=800 torr =80 cm Hg ; T2= 17 C=290 K ; d2=?

P2(m/d2) = nT2R--------(2)

Divide (1) ,(2) and you get,

P1/P2(d2/d1) =T1/T2

d2 =P2/P1(T1/T2)d1

You can just try finding it yourself now.

The units of the parameters should be substituted according to the desired units in the answer.

This might look a little bit complicated if you do not know the basics.
