Corrrect Question:

The diagonal of a quadrilateral shaped field is 24m and perpendicular dropped on it from the remaining opposite vertices are 6m and 12m. Find the area of the field.

Answer:

_____________________

Given:-

  • Diagonal of Quadrilateral = 24m
  • Perpendicular dropped from the opposite sides = 6m and 12m

Find:-

  • Area of the field

Solution:-

we, know that

➦ Area of Quadrilateral = 1/2 × Diagonal × Sum of perpendicular

➦ Area of Quadrilateral = 1/2 × Diagonal × (h₁ + h₂)

where,

  • Diagonal, d₁ = 24m
  • h₁ = 6m
  • h₂ = 12m

Substituting these values

↬Area of Quadrilateral = 1/2 × d₁ ×(h₁ + h₂)

↬Area of Quadrilateral = 1/2 × 24 ×(6+ 2)

↬Area of Quadrilateral = 1/2 × 24 × 18

↬Area of Quadrilateral = 1/2 × 432

↬Area of Quadrilateral = 432/2

↬Area of Quadrilateral = 216m²

Hence, Area of the given field is 216m²
