Basically NaCl is the chemical name for common table salt. If it is in hydrated form the water evaporates out of it first and it remains purely solid. Salt basically melts it at a temperature of around 800 degrees, further heating then results in boiling at around 1398 degrees

When NaCl is heated, it starts to get hot, until at 801°C it melts and when heated further, it boils at 1413°C. When it is molten, it can conduct electricity.
