Since the required nos are in proportion

Product of extremes =Product of means

》(10+x)(38+x)=(18+x)(22+x)

》380+10x+38x+x^2=396+18x+22x+x^2

》380+48x=396+40x(x^2 will cut from both sides)

》380-396=40x-48x

》-16=-8x

》x=2

Hence 2 must be added
