Jessie agree to marry Pescud despite so much difference in their background because of Pescud's frankness,outspokenness and honesty.

He said Jessie's father (in a meeting he had with him) that he loved Jessie and wanted to marry her.Pescud also mentioned everything that how had he saw Jessie in the chair car and followed her to her home.

Thus,his loyalty and genuine behavior  impressed Jessie and his father so she married Pescud despite so much difference in their background.
