Hydraulic Lift is also known as the Hydraulic Jack. It works on the Principle Pascal's Law.

Hydraulic Jack is used for lifting heavy vehicles such as Cars, Trucks, etc.

Construction ⇒ Hydraulic Jack consist of two cylindrical Vessels which are connected to each other with a tube having a valve. The one cylindrical vessels is narrower than the other. The Piston of the narrower cylindrical vessels is attached to the Lever ad the piston of the Wider cylindrical vessels has a platform for lifting the Vehicles. The Vessels are filled with a liquid mostly Water is used).

______________________________

Working ⇒ When Handle of the Lever is Pressed Down by applying an Effort, the valve in the tube opens because of the increase in pressure in the Narrower  Cylinder. The liquid runs out from the narrower to the wider cylinder. As a result the Piston in the Wider cylindrical Vessels rises the Objects placed in the Platform.

When the Objects reaches the Desired Height, the Handle of the Lever is no longer Pressed. The valve get closed (since the pressure on either side of the Valves become same) so that the liquid does not run back from the Wider Cylindrical Vessels to the Narrower cylindrical Vessels.

Pascal's Law states that the pressure exerted anywhere in the liquid in transmitted equally and Undiminished in all Directions throughout the Liquid.

From the Proved working of the hydraulic Jack or Hydraulic lift  and the Pascal's law, We can observe that it works on the same Principle of Pascal's law.

Hope it helps.
